Get Buzzed

It’s Awards Season, one of my favorite times of the year! From the Golden Globes to the SAG Awards and every one in between, you can be sure I tune in! The granddaddy of them all is the Academy Awards – Hollywood’s version of the Super Bowl. I love everything about the evening -- the red carpet (who is she wearing?!), the opening monologue (will there be singing? dancing?) and seeing where everyone is sitting (why is Jack always in the front row?). But the best part of all is when they finally start giving Oscars away.

I admit that I tear up during acceptance speeches, especially when the underdog comes out the victor. The Lifetime Achievement Award montage is my “half-time” for a snack run to the kitchen. I love making my “picks” beforehand so that watching turns into a game. While I’ve never been known for my psychic abilities, I do love to guess, emphasis on guess .

Without further ado, here are my picks for the winners at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, which will broadcast on Sunday, March 7th on ABC. I’ll spare you my picks on the random awards (Sound Mixing, anyone?) and stick with the majors. Check back here on March 8th to see how I did!
