Professional Side
Wendy has been in the accounting and financial arena for over 25 years. She joined Barclay Communications a year ago and is thoroughly enjoying the PR side of the media business.
Prior to joining Barclay, she spent twenty years working in Phoenix broadcasting between KSAZ (KTSP) Channel 10 and KTVK Channel 3. She joined MAC America in 1993 and as assistant controller managed the financials for their television, radio, magazine and production divisions. In 1999, MAC sold to Belo, and KASW joined the family along with two Tucson television stations and two Internet divisions.
A little known fact about Wendy’s career is that she worked for George Carlin’s east coast manager and also for a company that booked concerts for the leading Country & Western singers of the day such as Waylan Jennings, Ricky Scaggs, George Jones, and Merle Haggard.
Wendy currently serves on the board of House of Broadcasting Museum. The museum is Arizona’s premiere radio and television home, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history, personalities and paraphernalia of the electronic media.
Right Brain Side
Dealing with numbers, charts, and spreadsheets is what keeps Wendy fulfilled during the week, but her other passions are photography and interior decorating. She lets her artistic side out of the box by shooting, editing and displaying photos from her many travels around the state, country and the world. She also can’t get enough of home decorating magazines and has a file drawer full of pages ripped out for ideas on future transformations of her own home. Weekly and seasonal decorating frenzies are customary at the Helle household.
