PHOENIX, AZ (Oct. 14, 2009) – One of the Valley’s leading marketing and communications firms, Barclay Communications Inc. today announced the addition of two new high-profile clients in the sports entertainment industry – World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE®) and the United Football League (UFL). Barclay has been retained by both organizations to implement local and regional communications programs.
For WWE, Barclay will apply its 24 years of strategic communications experience to promote next year’s “Super Bowl” of Sports Entertainment – WrestleMania® XXVI – taking place in Glendale on March 28, 2010. In addition, Barclay will promote a week’s worth of activities that will culminate with WrestleMania XXVI. Among the activities will be WrestleMania Axxess, WWE Hall of Fame, WrestleManiArt™ exhibition, Monday Night Raw®, and WrestleMania “Rocks the Block” street party.
As part of the agency’s agreement with the UFL – the emerging football league comprising world class professional football players – Barclay will provide public and media relations support for the Las Vegas Locomotives, one of four teams in the new league. In its premiere season, The Las Vegas Locomotives will benefit from a local and regional media relations campaign.
The announcement of these new clients comes on the heels of the recent appointment of Ray Artigue as the president of the agency. Formerly the executive director of the MBA Sport Business Program at Arizona State University and senior vice president of marketing for the Phoenix Suns, Artigue is poised to grow Barclay’s sports marketing and PR client roster.
